Nagathihalli Chandrashekar is a man of letters. His romance with words started at a very early age. “Aavartha”, his first short story was written when he was a class 8 student. His enthusiasm for writing has only increased from then on and has been a continuous affair. Till date Chandrashekar has penned 21 books, including novels, short story collections and travelogues.

Chandrashekar has written numerous articles and stories for leading Kannada publications and journals. A few of his short stories have been translated to several Indian languages such as Hindi, Telugu and Malayalam. Many of his short stories have been adapted into television programmes by various filmmakers.

"Ayana" has been pre-scribed as text book for graduate course in Gulbarga and Bijapur Women University.
